Subject: Ansys-flotran problem

Sir,

I am a user of Ansys flotran and i am currently
modelling(2-D) and subsequently analysing cooling of a
stainless steel body in a enclosed adiabatic
rectangular chamber using liquid nitrogen(77K) sprayed
from the botom corners and central portion of the
bottom.

The given boundary conditions are,

1. Intial temperature(specifie by IC Command)of
the area Where the stainless steel body is
placed(305K)

2. Outer boundary of the stainless steel body is
specified by convection film co-eff. of 20 w/m2.k and
bulk temperature of 191K

A transient analysis of the above problem is done
using FLUID141 ELEMENT (2-D Model). But the results
indicate that the cooling of the stainless steel body
is happening only to that temperature specified as
nominal in the fldata14 command. Ansys theory shows
that Nominal temperature is only an initial condition
of the flow field.

My question is whether the cooling of
stainless steel body can be made independent of the
nominal temperature specified for the flow field as
the cooling is taking place only upto the value of
nominal temperature and further cooling is not
possible immaterial of the time steps advanced.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely,
Pradeep.
