Could I try to interject a little common sense into this problem.
Ignore the large stress. It is obvious that the sharp corner will
round over with repeated application of load and that the
large stress will go away. It you had seen a large area of high
stress in this region it might deserve the some attention, but from
what you describe it is highly localized and should not be of
concern
