I did not realize that DELL had special (proven) drivers for NVidia... that is a good point for sticking with GEFORCE based chipsets I guess.....
I did find a OPENGL web site that included RADEON on a list of "FULL" OpenGL cards, i.e.
3D Accelerators with full OpenGL drivers* *Updated June 2000* All boards listed support a full OpenGL ICD or full OpenGL standalone driver either from the chip manufacturer or from the Board vendor. many listed including: Radeon DDR Radeon 32 2048x1536 32-64DDR Windows NT/9x
I am of course not sure if that means all functions (including wireframe) are hardware accelerated or not..... I could not glean that from ATITECH website....
I have had decent luck with an older ATI MACH card on NT, and a relatively new RAGE128 all-in-wonder system on W98 (used for video capture etc..). So I don't have too much against ATI...... The Radeon is available locally (at BestBuy) with a $50 rebate, so at $149 final price for 32 Meg DDR it is cheap enough to experiment with I think....
I will post any results I get......
Also, I have had trouble viewing the PADT benchmark site recently..... anybody have a "new"/working link for it ????
Thanks, and regards,

I don't recommend running an ATI on NT. I've never seen an ATI driver that runs worth squat on NT. nVidia, by comparison has good NT drivers and similar performance. We've used other ATI cards on NT with Pro/ENGINEER and two things stand out: there are bugs, and ATI doesn't care.
Also, Dell bundles nVidia cards with their Precision workstations and has drivers that are specifically debugged and tested with high-end CAD/CAE apps - I'd go download those .....
