I've never seen an ATI driver that runs worth squat on NT. nVidia, by comparison has good NT drivers and similar performance. We've used other ATI cards on NT with Pro/ENGINEER and two things stand out: there are bugs, and ATI doesn't care.
Also, Dell bundles nVidia cards with their Precision workstations and has drivers that are specifically debugged and tested with high-end CAD/CAE apps - I'd go download those rather than use the nVidia reference drivers. Their 'Elsa Synergy Force' is equivalent to a GeForce or GeForce2.
