No rating yet Subject: ANSYS 5.5.1 node plots too slow. Author: Joe Metrisin Date: 1999-01-05 13:26:00Has anyone noticed that node plots are excruciatingly slow now in ANSYS 5.5.1? Sometimes even slower than element plots. Yes, I have the smaller dot option set. The problem is really bad when doing dynamic rotation with 3-D graphics. On a model with 30,000 nodes, it takes the image approximately 10-seconds to respond to the cursor movement in dynamic view mode. In this case, element plots respond almost instantaneously to cursor movement in dymamic mode.
I am running on a SUN Ultra-2 w/3-D creator graphics and Solaris 2.6 O/S. I am also running a custom version 5.5.1 provided by the ANSYS folks. I'd like to determine if this is a new "feature" in the vanilla 5.5.1 or something related to our custom version.
