FIrst of all I'd suggest a more appropriate subject like "The license
manager is ridiculous" . (End of moderator mode)

Our license manager problems seem to be abating, but if you want to hear
something ridiculous.... Years ago we use to have a "site license" here,
but now have Elan like everyone else. The silly part is that we have 3,000
licenses! GEAE couldn't possibly run that many Ansys jobs on the hardware
we have here! My adminstrator told me the largest number of jobs we have
every had going at one time is in the hundreds. So, while Elan is making
sure GE hasn't gone out and bought another 1,000 workstations to run 3,001
runs at one time we've had 100's of jobs die due to license problems. I'm
sure GE's contract administrator got promoted for this one.
